Since 8 years we are designing and
implementing document management and archiving solutions.
There is broad spectrum of project requirements, integrated
business applications, data volume and user counts.
This list of typical customer scenarios gives you an
overview about our project and product experience.
The most common data and document management situations
were selected, but if you do not find your specific
scenario or you need more details about the functionality
in the context of a business application of your IT
environment, please contact

Optical
Archiving of Laboratory Protocols and Documentation
During the development of new pharmaceutical
products a lot of protocols and test documentation is
produced. These documents and data have to be long-term
archived for the lifetime of the product. In 1999 we
designed together with Compaq Computer Corporation an
FDA complaint optical archive for storing this kind
of information. The Food and Drug Administration is
the U.S. organization for controlling of food and drugs.
Based on a standard Windows computer, a directly attached
optical jukebox, and an access security optimized user
interface, we implemented a solution, moving the data
from distributed magnetic file storage to optical medias
to provide a guaranteed data safety.
This system archives day-by-day more than 2000 documents
of different size, from kilobytes to gigabytes. The
complete service and maintenance for this solution is
outsourced to Compaq.
Data Safety for a Huge Amount
of Documents
Large organizations use ERP systems, like SAP R/3, to
manage the large number of documents, which they receive
and produce every day. Legal requirements demand long-term
archiving of these documents. In this case the customer
is an outsourcing partner of a large chemistry company,
who manages a lot of their SAP R/3 installations. In
2000 we have designed a distributed archiving solution
for this service provider. For data safety reasons the
documents are stored at geographically separated locations
and are replicated for the handling of system crash
scenarios.
The customer is archiving over 10.000 documents daily
for more than 15 SAP R/3 systems. In the future, this
solution will be extended by additional SAP R/3 systems
without a lot of additional administration effort.
Integration of Third Party Products
Usually an archive solution has to be integrated into
an existing IT environment with a lot of already installed
systems and products. We have the experience to develop
the needed adaptations to interface third party products
and customer specific systems. For a manufacturing company,
which uses SAP R/3 and a proprietary document post-processing
system, we created software components for the communication
between theses systems and the archiving solution.
This solution guarantees the synchronizations of archived
documents and the printer output.
